Congratulations to the Chambers Academy Rebels, who beat Springwood Academy 45-41 to win the AISA 2A state championship on Friday in Montgomery.

It is the first state title since 2014 for the basketball program, and it is the second state championship this school year after the football team won it all in the fall. Jason Allen, by the way, is the head coach in football and basketball, so he’s on quite a run.

Also, congratulations to Springwood on another fantastic season. The Wildcats made it to the state-championship game for the second straight year, and they’ll no doubt be back and ready to compete for the title again next season. Also, wishing for a speedy recovery from Chambers Academy’s Cohan McDonald, who suffered a major foot injury in the championship game.
