- On 01/07/2026, Detectives with the Opelika Police Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) regarding a 24-year-old Opelika resident purchasing child pornography online. An investigation led to the arrest of Jason Conway Scott on ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography on 02/10/2026.
