Kortney Leianne Culpepper, 47, was born in Opelika, Alabama, on September 18, 1978, and passed away on Friday, February 06, 2026, at Univeristy of Alabama Hospital.
Kortney graduated from Beulah in 1996. She had a career in logistics at Walmart Distribution Center and customer service at Afni.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Culpepper; Father, William Culpepper; stepmother, Linda Culpepper; Brother, Jerry Wayne; Maternal grandparents,Walter and Rubye Simms; Paternal grandparents, William O. and Inez Culpepper.
Kortney is survived by sister Kalyn (Terry) Ray; brother, Billy Joe (Cristy) Culpepper; nephew, Nick (Allison) Ray and their children Laura Kathryn, Landon, Laney; niece, Brittany Ray (Josh Spence); Sisters in Love Jenny Stokes (Craig) & Vicki Sexton (Kevin); niece Katie Reach, and children Carter, Camden, Kennedi; Jessica Blalock, and daughter Abigail; nephew, Joey
Culpepper; niece, Tannah Wilson (Cody) and children, JC, Austyn, Korbyn; niece, Kierstin Gorham (Abel); brother, Shane Culpepper (wife Dana); sister, Shannon Culpepper; “Little brother” Jay Walker (Danielle) and children, Chloe, Clayton; close friend Ashley Banks Carter (Michael); and former spouse, Roger Easterling.
Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2026 from 12:00pm – 1:45pm at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home in the Parlor with a Chapel service to follow at 2:00pm. Reverend Ricky Thomaston will be officiating.
