Funeral service for David Minnifield, 64, of Opelika, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Essie J. Handy Memorial Cemetery, 402 B Street, LaFayette, AL, 36862. Reverend Curtis Vines will officiate.
Mr. Minnefield, who passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born June 5, 1961, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Kimberley Minnefield of Opelika, AL; four children, Lucas (LaQuetta) Nelms of Auburn, AL, Jeffery O’Neil Holloway, Mason Minnefield and Noah Minnefield all of Opelika, AL; eight grandchildren, JaBrian Harris, Jasmine Harris, Jeffery Holloway, Jr., Meliyah Holloway, Alayna Holloway all of Opelika, AL, LaQuavious Nelms, Quindravious Nelms and Omarion Holloway all of Auburn, AL; three sisters, Shirley Harper, Margaret Scott both of Opelika, AL and Pamela (Jerome) Williams of Dadeville, AL; nine brothers, Michael (Pamela) Meniefield of Loachapoka, AL, Willie T. Meniefield, Curtis (Barbara) Menifield, Tommy (Connie) Harper all of Opelika, AL, Dawnee’ Walker-Wright of Augusta, GA, James (Nikki) Wright of Valley, AL, Ricky (Patricia) Wright of Auburn, AL, Kenston Wright of Boston, MA and Robert (KoKeisha) Walker Wright of New Orleans, LA; father and mother-in-law, Tommy and Elnita Johnson of Opelika, AL; sister-in-law, Lanedra Matthews of Opelika, AL; brother-in-law, Ryshawn Matthews of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
