On Wednesday, Valley and Central of Clay County faced off in a tightly contested pitching duel that ended with Central of Clay County edging out the Rams 2-1 at Crestview Field.

For the Rams, Mason Yarbrough delivered an impressive performance, allowing only two hits over five innings and striking out seven batters.

As the game entered the seventh inning tied, Central of Clay County managed to push across the winning run.

Ri Waldrep earned the victory for Central of Clay County, while Matthew McDonald, who pitched in relief for Valley, took the loss.

With this result, Valley now has a record of 1-2 for the young season. They will be traveling to Ranburne on Friday in hopes of bouncing back and getting back on the winning track.
